WELCOME! The Wasatch Hiking and Outdoors Meetup is a group of people that love to hike with others! We feature hikes for all skill levels, road trips, camping, and social gatherings. We have events throughout the Wasatch Front, including Salt Lake, Davis, and Weber counties. We even hike at night!
KNOW YOUR LIMITS. Our Organizers are not tour guides, we're not rangers. Going out with us is the same as going out with a few friends. Expect the same risks, take the same precautions. As Organizers, we will do our best to give accurate descriptions of the hikes we post. If you are a beginning hiker, a hike's elevation and distance may not mean much to you. Likewise, difficulty ratings are subjective, and a hike that is Easy to one person may be Moderate to another. Err on the side of caution. You're much better off going on a hike that's too easy for you than a hike that's too hard or too dangerous for you. As you go on more hikes with us, you'll become more familiar with our ratings and our descriptions, and you'll learn more about your own limits. Ultimately, it's up to you to keep yourself safe out there. You're an adult. Hike within your abilities.
DUES/FEES There are no membership dues to be a part of this group.
To learn more about the group, BE SURE TO CHECK OUT OUR "ABOUT" PAGE. That's also where you'll find our FAQ and Hiking Etiquette pages.
Fun, active, smart and liberal minded (or at least open minded) participants encouraged! So before you join, please click on "about us".
Meetup with like-minded people who love to get out there and find new things to learn, do, see and experience behind the Zion Curtain. Varied activities might include a small cocktail party, or a bigger event like a festival in town, hitting a great concert at the Gallivan Center/Red Butte or a shared table at that cool new restaurant in town. This is not a group that will bar hop as a theme, although we might grab a drink together or even bring a bottle of wine to an event from time to time.
Enjoy beer, people and hanging out in a relaxed social environment? Welcome to the Salt Lake City Beer Drinkers, your premier social club. I look forward to meeting and welcoming you to the SLCBD.

There are only two rules: Always be respectful to the other people in the group. Misconduct to other members will be cause for removal from the group. The only other thing we ask is that you RSVP to events you plan on attending and change your RSVP if your plans change. If you are unable to make the Meetup please still RSVP. This lets us know that even though you may not be able to make it to that Meetup you are still interested in the group.

I was born and raised in Utah, at the foot of the Wasatch Mountains, but got real serious about outdoor adventures in my 40's. As a Musical Theater major from BYU, I've done plenty of singing, dancing and performing throughout my life, but I feel the most alive now when I am skiing, hiking, snowshoeing, trampoline jumping, bike riding, kayaking or paddle surfing.
If you have a spirit of adventure, desire to meet more outdoor enthusiasts, want to be active, eager to try new sports and explore new places, near and far, and best of all spend very little money, you'll be extremely happy with our group!

Meet other local movie fans for dinners and new releases!
Typically we setup a Sunday Matinee followed by Dinner ; yet, we plan to have a few @ home backyard bigscreen showings in the summer of older "classics" with bbg potlucks.
Take a chance to meet new members and get to know each other a little. After we all have a great dinner.
Generally if you RSVP ahead I will have pre-purchased tickets in a block so that we have great seats all together for everyone and you just pay me cash on arrival to the theatre.
For dinner we set it up ahead with the restaurant for separate checks and also avoid the "large group" extra tip fees.
If you have any questions, please email me. Thanks!
For people over 21 interested in meeting, having fun, and hanging out. It's about new friendships and people to share good times. An online parental rights group for connecting family rights advocates and organizations in Utah together - with each other, with more information, and with other resources. Our group has a particular focus on defending the family in the war being waged against it by the unholy alliance of the divorce industry and rising misandrism. The resulting onslaught on the family is so often no more immediately recognized than by divorcing fathers.
Hope for improvement is available through activism. If you're not already a member, see our "Join Us!" sign up section below and enter a login name, your email address, and a password to join today. Joining demonstrates your concern and gives you access to lots more information including information on relevant events and what more you can do to make a difference for our future.
No fit parent should have to be a visitor or less to their own children!

These are not the typical mainstream movies. The Broadway Theatre has unique and inspiring films which are primarily indy and foreign films! We meet for the movie, then head out for a bite to eat while we discuss the movie! Come prepared to enjoy a great movie and even better company after the movie with inspiring conversation!!! Those who have RSVP'd will choose the movie (most times) before the scheduled meeting, the meetup time is set up, 30 minutes before the movie start time. Then after the movie we will go to a place to talk about the movie, life, ??? This group is kinda like a "movie" book club, and the conversations are rich, deep, and wonderful!!

Meet other local people coping with a divorce or separation for discussion and support. FYI, we are NOT a SINGLES, (dating) group. We are here to support one another through the difficult transitions of divorce or separation. It is important that every person who comes to our SDMG meetings feels safe and supported through interaction with other members. Relationships within the group are Strongly Discouraged, for the mere fact of not complicating each others journey to a healthy recovery. We want a "safe zone" for each person to thrive and relax without worrying about the pressure of dating. We do socialize as a group where strong friendships have been made. I hope to continue with success, individually and as a group! Thank you for your understanding and support. Fauve
Our group gives active women (and their families) the chance to enjoy similiar activities, make new friends, and share good food, wine, and other beverages. This group is just for fun. Our group is open to the public, and we are looking for those with a laid-back and "try not to take life too seriously" attitude.
The Salt Lake City Poker Meetup Group is a private group that plays adults-only no-rake, no-fee home poker games in the Salt Lake City area. Limits are low, games are in private homes, players are mostly beginners. Persons under 21 years old are not allowed to join or play. Our organization and our games are purely non-commerical and are totally drug-free.
No rakes, fees, dues, paid dealers or other commercial activity, just a good time playing home poker and making new friends.
We have about six home games every week. We play a lot of No Limit Texas Hold Em tournaments, NLTHE cash games, and a few mixed games. We hope you will apply for membership today.
Read. Eat. Discuss. Have fun. Repeat.
Food and books--almost as good of a pair as milk and cookies. Or Lennon and McCartney.
This is all about getting together with other people who enjoy eating and reading and discussing what makes literature great and any other topics that may come up.
With so many books in print it is good to have direction from other avid readers to know what to read next. What better avenue than over a delicious meal at one of SLC's fine dining venues? Classic reading (like food) comes from all genres, eras and cultures so everyone is invited to join.
Here's how it works, every week (or so) there is a new book at a new restaurant. We like to have a variety of reads and foods. Each meetup is open to the first 15 people to RSVP which means a different group every time. We are pretty laid back and easy going. If a book doesn't catch your eye, not to worry, there are plenty more every month for you to come to.
Finishing or even reading the book is not required. Sometimes you need to hear a discussion about it to decide if you want to add it to your "to read" list.

Welcome to the Salt Lake City Coffee and Tea.
Here is a letter that was drafted on behalf of the members of this group. We would appreciate it, if you could read through it and then decide if this is the right group for you.
This is a socially interactive group. It is up to you to socialize and to introduce yourself to the others in the group. It is up to you to seek out the types of conversations you are interested in. It is up to you to move around the group and socialize with anyone you wish to. It is also up to you to censor your conversations when speaking. It is up to you to act appropriately. If anyone has a problem with a member acting inappropriately please let them know you do not appreciate it and if it continues please let the organizers know and they will be removed from the group.
This is not group therapy, so if you have issues going on in life, please leave them at home Remember TMI (too much information) over drinks is to much for people who don't know you.
If you meet some one you want to hang out with on your own. Great, there is a way you can email that member through meet up. Give them your phone number and communicate directly with them. I would like people to use this group to make new friends and get out and do what you are interested in. If the person is not interested, please respect their wishes. But, this is not Match, or eHarmony. If you meet someone you like, great. But, do not use this site as your free online dating service. Enough said.
We do not want this to be a socially correct, politically correct, only singles, only married, only young, only old, only, only, only…. This is a GROUP and everyone is welcome and everyone is wanted. We would like this to be a group for free thinking and interesting people with free and interesting things to say. If you are sensitive, not open and get offended easily, this might not be the group for you.
We would like to ask people to clean up after themselves and to put their dishes in the receptacles that the venue has provided. .
There are many wonderful places to have a cuppa in SLC.
Any questions, comments, thoughts, ideas and whatevers are always welcome.
Thank you for joining and we are looking forward to meeting you.
This group is about supporting HAPPINESS! It is surprising how, when asked, many people don't know what real happiness is. Do you? Do you know what will truly bring you happiness? Scientific studies have shown that most people are poor at estimating what will make them happy. For instance, when you think about the things that you "enjoy" doing, does it truly bring you happiness - or comfort - or worse, are you just killing time? Think about what you describe as "fun" - is it REALLY fun? These classes will teach you not only the true meaning of happiness and fun but help you get there - not just for the short term (called a happiness boost) but set up a personalized plan for long-term happiness. Hey, it's FREE. What do you have to lose? People of all levels of happiness (depression included) are welcome.
Provide a central meeting place to find out about events and tea parties being held across the State of Utah. In addition, I am scheduling classes to learn about the Constitution and our Founding Fathers. For quotes, suggested reading and miscellaneous other stuff, please go here: http://utah-dontgo.ning.com/
Thanks to all of you for your support. Together we will make a difference. Together we can bring about change!
The chief purpose of the Wasatch Dungeons & Dragons Meetup is to bring players and Dungeons Masters together to play the current edition of the Dungeons & Dragons game. Other role playing games are welcome and encouraged.
We encourage you to join the discussions on our message boards. Tell us about yourself and what you like to play. If you have an RPG gaming group in the area and want others to know about it, feel free to announce it here so you can grow your group. If you want to find a group, check out our message board to see if there is a group forming in your area.
Also, beginning February 22nd, Game Night Games will begin hosting weekly D&D encounters at their store. Thursday nights are also available at Game Night for RPG meetups. These meetups are free of charge and beginners are welcome.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact us and we'll be happy to help.

Welcome to Salt Lake City Mountain Biking (SLCMTB)!
We're a group of riders based out of the greater Salt Lake City area who are passionate about mountain biking throughout Utah. During the season, we usually have 1-2 weekly rides, with sometimes 3-5 rides during peak riding weather. We put together rides to fit a host of riding levels and inclinations including beginner rides, girls' rides, casual rides, challenge rides (hang on to the wheel in front of you!), Epic rides (big mileage and big grins), skills days at bike parks, shuttled downhill rides, lift-serviced days (at Snowbasin, Deer Valley, Sundance, etc.), night rides, weekend trips (Moab, Fruita, Gooseberry, Vernal, Green River, etc.), and even one or two week-long trips (Tahoe, etc.).
We ask for $5 annual dues in order to pay Meetup.com to host the site with any extra going to parties/BBQs. For your $5, you'll be handsomely rewarded with a nice SLCMTB beverage koozie for apres-bike refreshment. You can pay your days via the link on the website, or myself or one of the group organizers can accept your dues in person. As a new member, you are required to read the SLCMTB Disclaimer located on the 'Pages' page.
For easier access to the site, just type in www.SLCMTB.com.
We're glad to have you aboard, and hope to see you out on a ride soon!

Do you watch the direction that America is being taken in and feel powerless to stop it?
Do you believe that your voice isnt loud enough to be heard above the noise anymore?
Do you read the headlines everyday and feel an empty pit in your stomach as if youre completely alone?
If so, then youve fallen for the Wizard of Oz lie. While the voices you hear in the distance may sound intimidating, as if they surround us from all sidesthe reality is very different. Once you pull the curtain away you realize that there are only a few people pressing the buttons, and their voices are weak. The truth is that they dont surround us at all.
We surround them.
Join us in our community as we educate, unite and take action to preserve our freedoms and liberty!
Dr. Ron Paul, Champion of the Constitution, has started another campaign, a Campaign for Liberty! Watch the below YouTube of his announcement and notice that he gives more truth in that video then he could or would have been able to as a presidential candidate.
It's time to have constitutionally-based candidates winning all our local elections here in Utah. And it's time our US President and Congressmen back in Washington support freedom and the US Constitution.
Please feel free to discuss this meetup's new direction.

Meet with like-minded Utahn's to learn about healing modalities, the shift in consciousness, raising your vibration, 2012, Chakras, meditations, The Reconnection and many other exciting topics.
As we form a community of healers and those interested in holding a high vibration of Peace, Love and Light, let's bring healing to those in need and incorporate prayer and meditation for world peace. This is a place to be yourself - share your gifts and talents with others - and practice your skills in a safe, loving environment.
We will offer two types of meetups - free one's to study interesting topics and healing modalities and one's that are more in the 'workshop' category for a fee.
Let's get together once or twice a month and educate our members about the new forms of healing available to us in this exciting time in the earth's life cycle and share our understanding of the new cosmic consciousness! It is our mission to collectively illuminate our spirits :)
I am a Reconnective Healer and also provide The Reconnection - Dr. Eric Pearl.
I know there are some amazing frequencies available to us and would love to learn more about each of you and your interests.
We showcase different members and have them teach us about their gifts - we welcome everyone - you do not need to be a healer to join us :)
I am truly looking forward to meeting each and every one of you - feel free to email me anytime if you are interested in speaking about your passion!
Smiles -
Kris

This group is for anyone who:
* Already uses Reiki
* Wants to receive Reiki
* Is curious about Reiki
* Wants to learn Reiki
I am BURSTING with ideas and excitement to use Reiki in so many ways and in so many places! Thank you for following your curiosity about this group. We are an intimate community of Reiki friends. We offer a support network in which to learn, grow, and heal with Reiki. Your ideas, feedback, wisdom, and suggestions are always welcome.
* A Reiki Meetup is Born *
When I first learned Reiki, I felt drawn to connect with other local practitioners. I also wanted to share Reiki with the general public. I found that most Reiki gatherings were open only to the students of the attending Reiki Master. My desire was growing! I wanted to stretch and discover the rich diversity that Reiki has to offer.
Thus, a Reiki group is born! I started hosting Reiki practice gatherings in January 2009. Now these groups merge with the Meetup community to spread the word about:
1. Reiki TRAINING for levels I, II, Advanced, and III (Master)
2. Reiki PRACTICE groups for those already attuned
3. Opportunities for the PUBLIC to experience, and benefit from, Reiki
* The Nuts and Bolts *
1. Together, we create a NURTURING place in which RESPECT is given to all who attend.
2. All facets and traditions of Reiki are HONORED and EMBRACED.
3. This is a CO-CREATIVE group. Members are encouraged to bring ideas and inspirations for accessing and applying Reiki. In this way, we learn from each other and have a safe place in which to try something new!
4. As Reiki teaches the importance of an ENERGY EXCHANGE, donations are requested for most of the Reiki gatherings. Donations cover the cost of our gathering space and the Meetup website subscription. Tuition is set for specific trainings.
I'm excited to share the versatility of Reiki with you and I look forward to building a Reiki Community with you!

We have something for everyone; dining out, volleyball, bowling, clubs, dance lessons, sporting events, concerts, camping, Wendover trips and many more activities.
AGE REQUIREMENT
· You must be 50 years of age or older to join. Children are invited only to events that are listed as family friendly.
YOUR PROFILE/PHOTO
· You are required to answer all questions.

Meet your local good Utah witches, wiccans, pagans, druids, shamans, heathens, Goddesses and Gods! Please feel free to come on in and explore the social scene here, there is so much to do! Parties, picnics, concerts and other fun events make this meetup the place to be!
This meetup is open to all who come in friendship and light. We will be exploring, learning and sharing together through workshops and social gatherings. We are a family friendly gathering and children will always be welcome to come to our events! May the blessings of God and Goddess be with you always!
This meetup is not affiliated or sponsored by any group or organization, it is a social event group which is organized by Heron and Avalon :D We very often list events that are not organized by us, but which may be of interest to members of our group. If you have any questions, please let us know! If you have an event you'd like us to put on the calendar, just drop us a line!
There are a lot of great singles groups on Meetup.Com; there are also a lot of great Spiritual /Metaphysical / New Age groups... However, we've also talked with a lot of single people within the Salt Lake Valley who have wanted a venue to meet other, like minded single people. Our intention with the group is to create just that. Through activites, travel, charity work etc. to bring us all together. Spiritually...
Please feel free to post events if you like. If you'd like the ability to actually schedule events, please ask one of the group organizers for that role, and it will be given to you.
We ask that your events be either non-profit or free. And that you don't schedule a recurring event or a subsequent event if your attendance was less than three - and all of them left positive reviews. We should try things as liberally as our hearts and imaginations can design. But we should remember that our group emails will have more impact if events are really meaningful to many. Also - our calendar should not be filled with recurring events which obscure the one-time but really cool event that someone had a brilliant idea to present.
Thank you so much for joining our group! Namaste!
Welcome fellow skiers/boarders! Are you ready to hit the slopes for the upcoming season? I am developing this meet-up group to provide ski/boarding opportunities for all levels of skiers/boarders at various resorts throughout Utah & possibly an out-of-state outing. In addition, beneficial skiing resources to enhance your ski/boarding season will be posted (upcoming events; discounts; ski/snowboard rehabilitation & fitness programs; etc.) Anyone looking to experience the terrain at different resorts, improve their skiing/snowboarding performance, & meet other like-minded skiers/boarders are encouraged to join!
Our focus is to tap into the healing power of nature to restore joy and happiness to life. Whether it's due to the loss of a loved one, divorce, job loss, anxiety or other life challenges, the drama and trauma of life can leave us feeling stuck. It can be difficult to motivate ourselves to get outside and let the endorphins created through movement heal our mind and body.
My experience with outdoor groups has shown me that people who exercise in nature--whether it's the mountains, the desert, or even a walk in the park--experience significant relief from depression, feel less anxious and stressed, and generally feel a renewed sense of happiness, than those who exercise indoors. Add to that the wonderful endorphins that hiking creates, and it's possible to go from hopeless to joyful in a very short time.
Out 2 Live activities range from beginner walks and hikes, to more advanced activities that include slot canyons, backpacking, camping and mountain biking. Some of the activities will include meditation, mountaintop yoga, or simply sharing encouragement and experiences around a campfire. And along the way, lifelong friendships will be made.
Our purpose is to give back to the local community through monthly volunteer activities. If you desire giving your personal time to help local causes, then this group is intended for you! We'll schedule opportunities which encourage adults and children to participate.
If you know of any local organizations you want us to help, please share the information! Supporting our community through volunteer work can improve the quality of life for not only the recipient, but your life too! Make time to volunteer!
The Church of the Sacred Circle is a local church of Earth-Based traditions which holds several public events per month. Although I'm up for playing anything and learning new games as well! I am planning on meeting twice a month on either a Friday or a Saturday to play. You must be 18 to join and sorry, no kids. So if you want to play great games, meet great people and have a whole lot of fun, join the Salt Lake Board Game Meetup!
Have you ever considered becoming a Freemason? If so, this is the place to start.

The symbols of freemasonry. Freemasonry initiation. Freemasonry books. Degrees of freemasonry. Freemasonry today and its relevance to the younger generation. What is the Scottish Rite and York rite? Why do the Shriners wear those funny hats? What are secrets of freemasonry?

This group helps connect people in the Salt Lake area. We want to include everyone who enjoys having a good time. If you were never Mormon but want to be a part of our group please check us out.
Most of us are people who have left Mormonism. When leaving Mormonism, many people lose much of their community and sometimes family. They might have trouble readjusting and feel like they need to learn a whole new world - which is where we come in, creating friendships with understanding, fun people. Whether you've recently mentally left the church, have been years out the door, or even if you were never Mormon, come join us and help us establish a sense of community in Salt Lake.
This group is not affiliated with any religion or outside group. It is specifically a group for and by people who have left Mormonism and those who want to socialize with us.
This meetup site is for everyone in the Salt Lake City area who wants to connect with others to converse in Spanish and develop Spanish language skills. All levels of proficiency are welcome. We want all our members to have places to practice Spanish among friends in a comfortable environment. Check out the calendar to see what is already scheduled, and if you would like to organize a meeting just let us know so that we can post it on the calendar.
¡Qué le vaya bien!
Our bodies are incredibly efficient healing machines. However, if something gets out of balance, having additional tools in your healing toolbox will make living a strong, healthy life possible.
Each meeting we will focus on a different mode of healing including oils, reflexology, energy medicine, chakras, muscle testing, herbs, meditation, iridology, hypnosis, massage, intuition, flower essences, emotional processing, cleansing, spiritual practices, generational clearing, and so much more!
After having serious health issues about 10 years ago, I began a deep and vast exploration of natural health. I am a certified iridologist and herbalist, hypnotherapist and energy healer. I have training in a wide variety of other modalities, as well, and will be sharing a wide variety of techniques and information every month.
Whether you want to learn holistic healing for yourself and family or to expand your skill set, this group will be a tremendous help for you! Please join us and bring friends and family members who are interested in becoming more skilled at holistic living.

Did you watch Sex and the City and wish you had a group of interesting, friendly women to chat with, hang out with, spill your guts to? I did!
Come join this group and meet other women in the Salt Lake area for friendship! We meet for coffee, drinks, dinner, talk about our husbands/boyfriends/girlfriends/partners, go dancing, play board games, go shopping, attend art galleries, watch movies, hike, and even take road trips/travel!
There are literally hundreds of waterfalls hidden in the Wasatch Front Range. Some are easy ten minute hikes, some are 3 hours or more round trip. Some are giant hundred foot freefall drops, some are a series of 5 foot drops that cascade down the canyon. All are cool on a hot summer day, all are cool subjects for camera buffs. There are a lot of fun things to do while seeking waterfalls too, like Geocaching (A Worldwide GPS Treasure Hunt), picnicking, bird watching, whatever outdoor activity you enjoy doing while seeking the elusive waterfall. If you are a seeker of natural wonders and beauty or even if you are just looking to make some new friends while hiking, come join the fun.
America is in trouble. Aren't we all past the point where we can continue to rationalize doing nothing? If you understand the proper role of government and the principles of Agency and Liberty, you are not alone. Even though we are few in number, we are making a difference and we are growing.
The solution to America's sickness starts with us, not compromised politicians in Washington.
We are driving change from the bottom up, in a civil manner, within the existing system. In May of 2010, Utah Rising successfully completed our first joint project: we replaced a Republican US Senator who would not follow our party platform with one who will. At the same time we got every one of our candidates nominated by the Republican Party to run in the general election.
Now, our short term efforts will be to get our candidates elected in November 2010. Beyond that, we will recruit and train citizens (and candidates) who are aggressively committed to the concepts of limited government, fiscal responsibility and legislation based on the original intent of the Constitution.
We must drive leaders up through the system who will passionately fight to take back our schools, our land and our Constitutional right to local governance.
We can't do much as individuals, but a working alliance of citizens and legislators can move mountains.
We already have and we will move some more.
Please join us, stop watching and start acting in solidarity.
Welcome to the Utah County Freemasons Meetup Group, which is offered by Story Lodge #4 (Freemason Lodge) in Provo, Utah (875 W. 1850 N., Provo). (http://www.storylodge4.org/)
This group offers everyone, whether a Mason or not, the ability to sit down with local Freemasons, enjoy some food and entertainment, and find out what Masonry is all about.
The purpose of this group is to discuss all things Masonic, to dispel the commonly held belief that to join Freemasonry a person must be asked or "tapped" to join, and to enlighten all that joining Freemasonry requires a man requesting, by his own free will and accord, to join the oldest Fraternity in the World.
If you have ever been interested in Freemasonry, join our group and let us share Masonry with you.

Calling all foodies in U.C. -Vicarious Gourmet is a place where we can get together and enjoy what we love most: tongue-meltingly delicious food. But there's an even larger purpose than that. Through interactions with other foodies and food experts from all over the county, we can increase our own "gourmet I.Q." Your palate will grow as you try new foods and seasoning combinations, and your recipe book will always have a backlog of new ideas to try. Together with our own exclusive Vicarious Gourmet events, we also post details for othercooking classes and foodie events that are going on in the area. We want you to have as many varied opportunities for foodie fun as possible! Just check the meeting details to see the RSVP requirements for each event - some are free, some charge a fee, but all are educational. And if you know of a local cooking class that's not listed on the site yet, just email the organizers to let us know.Enough talk - let's cook!
Hello Everyone,
This Group is open to anyone but targeted at people who live in Salt Lake and Davis Counties.
By definition a Hodgepodge is a mixture of several unrelated things. I want that to apply to the members as well as the activities. This is not a singles only group, it is a group of friends from all walks of life, all different types of people, in short, for anyone and everyone who is friendly and wants to meet new people and enjoy fun activities together. Which means this group's meetups can and should be the most varied activities on Meetup. Be creative in your suggestions. Not always just dinner or movie (although those are fine sometimes). Be creative. When was the last time you went to the zoo, park, or planetarium? Rode on a train, horse, or bicycle? Went to Wendover, Vegas, or Yellowstone? Rocked out at Karaoke? Killed some pins at bowling or went to a progressive dinner?
It's your group, I'm just the guy willing to front the money to keep it alive. Let's have fun.
Keith

ABOUT WORDPRESS
WordPress has evolved to be MUCH more than blogging software. Thanks to the amazing open source community, there are plugins that can customize a WordPress website to do just about anything - not to mention how SEO friendly the platform is. And WordPress is easy to learn and easy to use - even a newbie can have a basic site up and running in less than a few hours! Of course, once you discover WordPress you would never want to just leave it at that!
ABOUT THE WORDPRESS SEO CLUB
The WordPress Website & SEO Club is based in Salt Lake City. Depending on the subject, we may limit the number of attendees at certain events in order to keep the setting small and agile for learning purposes.
WordPress is free open source software, as are most of the plugins and many themes. The software is constantly being updated and improved, so learning WordPress is an ongoing process. Consider this club to be both for education and support for your WordPress web endeavors!
ABOUT THE ORGANIZER
WordPress Website & SEO Club of Salt Lake City is organized by Channa Connolly, proprietor of WordPressZen Web Design and Internet Marketing. Channa helps small business people to develop SEO supercharged WordPress websites and to streamline and integrate of all their Internet Marketing campaigns (video, social media, email, geo-targeted).
I have wanted to be in a book club for a long time, but cringe when my friends tell me their clubs are reading "Diaries of a Shoppaholic" and the like. I love to read, but feel like I have a more and more difficult time finding books that I really love. I would like to start a group that could meet monthly and, in addition to the typical pick a book, read and discuss, talk in general about books we love and why. Perhaps every other meeting we could pick a book to read that either one member loves and believes that no one's life could be complete without having read it - or even a book a member is dying to discuss with others. I think it would be nice to do a mix of "classics" (not in the Greek sense) and modern lit.
Books I love run the spectrum from War and Peace to Girl with a Dragon Tattoo. Books I would put outside my spectrum include Moby Dick (God bless you if you could get through the whole thing) and pretty much anything with a pink or baby blue cover (e.g. "chick lit"). I think it goes without saying that not every book club is a fit for every book lover. We all love different kinds of books. I would like to start a club for people who like to read fiction not just for entertainment, but to see the world in a new way, whether that is just a different time, different place, different set of attitudes and insights, etc.. If we become close friends, that would be a huge bonus.
If this looks like the group for you, I hope you will give it a try! I would like a group that not only selects books to read and discuss, but also occassionally discusses books more generally. Here are some kinds of example discussion I would envision:
-Has any book of fiction changed the way you see yourself? How?
-Ten books of fiction you would take with you to prison (not for barter or shiv making instructions mind you)
-Is there one book that you truely love and want to share with others? Mine is the Agony and the Ecstacy, by the way.
-If we get to know each other well enough to meet in each others' homes and share wine and food as well as our thoughts, all the better!
Here are the kinds of books (though not necessarily these books since I have read them) I have in mind. If you have never read any of these, read a few and if you like them, join. If you hate these, start a book club using books you love to find like minded readers!
The Agony and The Ecstasy Crime and Punishment Anna Karinina Of Human Bondage Catch 22

This group is about getting amateur flag football fans together to enjoy a friendly game and get some fresh air and have some fun! We're open to everyone who enjoys the sport. The only requirement is that that you abide by the meaning of "friendly" as defined below.
"Friendly" means sometimes you might end up on the losing team, and you have to be OK with that. This isn't the NFL. This group is not for hyper-competitive players who want to win at any cost. Being on the losing team doesn't necessarily make anyone a bad athlete.
We play weekly at 9:00 AM on Sundays for about 2.5 hours. We'll keep playing into the winter as long as players keep showing up.
Bring water. Guests are welcome.
Each game will begin with introductions, game rules and code of conduct. To minimize injury risk (especially high-speed collisions), we don't return kickoffs or punts. When picking teams, we try to even up the talent so that the game is competitive.
Note about RSVP's: Many players don't RSVP, so don't let the low RSVP count prevent you from coming.
Voluntary donations of $1.00 per game go toward maintaining this site and replacing flags.
For more info, call 1732-678-6821 or 801- 599-4717.
Looking for some support from like-minded individuals? Maybe some play-dates you can take your kids to? There are so many reasons we've started this group and here are a few of them:
*Meet other moms, dads, uncles, grandmas, etc. that are single, divorced, married, gay, straight, religious... Have I left anyone out?
*To be part of something, it's always nice to belong and feel wanted.
*Let your/our kids meet children their age with an adult of the same interests.
We have plenty of day/afternoon/night outings planned for adults, meet-ups where everyone can mingle (kids, all parents, extended family, etc.) and just events to take kids to.
If you have an idea, please feel free to post it or email and we will put it on the calendar!
Again, welcome to SLCPG, because we like to keep it PG!
This is a social group where Atheists and other Freethinkers can meet and socialize without getting too bogged down in theory. This is a light-hearted group designed to build the community and help us make connections and friendships.
Hello bowlers! The purpose of this group is to meet new people and BOWL! I love to bowl and I need some new bowling buddies--you? Come on and join if you're interested!
Meetup with other local motorbike enthusiasts. We'll be organizing short day trips to some of the finest scenery Utah has to offer, as well as longer multi-day trips around the region. Hopefully we'll also be able to organize track time for racers, and maybe clinics for new riders. Just bring your ideas and your bike.
This club is for people of all skills, ages, and road bike types (cruisers, sport, touring, etc... no dirt bikes). So come on everyone... kickstands up!
Please note: There is a $10 per year membership fee to join this group. It costs $150/year to have a Meetup group, so this cost is simply to cover my expense in running the group. Any additional monies over the $150 will be collected and used for group activities later. Once you are paid up, you will have the title of "Hardcore Biker" next to your name. Think about it: all this biking and fun for less than a dollar a month!

We Are Change Utah is a peaceful, grass roots social activism movement that exists to affect change to the world we live in. Our pronouncement to "Be the Change", inspired by Mahatma Gandhi, is to encourage people to speak out, be noticed and take action to expose tyranny in government.
We Are Change Utah is also a media movement, documenting and exposing corruption and tyranny in government and involvement in such by large corporations, stepping in where the mainstream media fails to do so.
Sprung originally out of the 9-11 Truth movement, We Are Change has evolved into an international coalition of people who wish to preserve the sovereignty of nations, and raise awareness of the issues threatening peace and freedom, wherever they may be.
Finally, We Are Change is about connecting and socializing with other like-minded people, because in numbers, we CAN make a difference. Join us to express yourself and stand up for justice and freedom!

Sportsmanship is expected; we are competitive but friendly! The guy against you this week will often be your teammate next week. Slide tackles are a no-no, and so is anything else that puts players at risk of collision or injury. Newcomers are welcome.
Our membership costs $90 for the first year, which includes 2 shirts, and 2 pairs of matching socks (good ones too, not cheapies like the kids get :-) ).
You can register at

We often have mid-week pickup games, but the majority of our play is on Saturday afternoons from mid-March til' late May, when we switch to Saturday MORNINGS to avoid the Brutal Utah Sun. In Late August we resume afternoon games which run until early November. If Winter is late we keep playing outdoors. We often play outdoors until Early December! When outside is finished we just move INSIDE! During winter if we get a thaw we play outside (in 2009 we played 3 weeks in February!)

Conscious Evolution means evolving by choice not chance. To be causal is to actively participate in conscious evolution. We are poised at a critical moment in history, facing crisis all over the world with the possibility of either the destruction of the world as we know it or the co-creation of a future of immeasurable possibilities. Conscious Evolution makes that positive future possible by opening us to the impulse of evolution within us. We attune to the reality that the cosmic intelligence creating the universe is becoming conscious of itself within us.
Join us for a introduction into being an agent for Conscious Evolution. Understand the significance of the Birth2012 event and how you can participate by becoming a catalyst for evolution. Be part of an evolutionary circle on the co-creative path for the Shift of Ages!
By participating in this event, you will:
Become inspired to offer your brilliance and greatest gifts to the world
Learn how many movements are coming together to activate a new era and consciously evolve humanity
Receive a new template for social synergy to enable you to work creatively and harmoniously with others
Renew and restore your hope in humanity turning the tide in time
Begin forming a global community of pioneering spirits
Should be really fun!
Are you Fulfilling your Soul's Potential? Are you expressing your gifts? Have you found your purpose? Are you asking questions? Are you enjoying the Journey? I hope the purpose of this group will elicit from you insights into your own true nature and purpose. It is my conviction that we have not only the capacity but also the mandate to consciously participate in an evolutionary process that introduces us to our eternal self for a deeper dimension of being. An enlightened society can only be created by awakened beings. It is my intention that you will be inspired to reveal your innate capacity to become a beneficial presence on the planet and actively contribute peace, compassion, lovingkindness, and selfless service to humanity and our world.
NICHE (Network. Inspire. CHarity. Empower) is focused on helping people achieve their goals, in business and in life.
We have amazing speakers every week to bring personal development and business building tools to help you grow!
We are determined to leave our world better than we found it. Every month we also sponsor a charitable cause, to help them with their biggest need at the moment. Please watch each month for any "needed items". A portion of your member investment will always go to this cause as well!
NICHE is sponsored by Compass. A company dedicated to bringing affordable, accessible life coaching to men, women, and teens.
Meetings are always held on Tuesdays at the Holiday Inn Express in Murray, Utah (45th south, I-15) at 9:00am.
We look forward to meeting all of you and having an exciting 2011 together!
Nice Guys have been conditioned to believe that if they are "good" and do everything "right", they will be loved, get their needs met, and have a smooth life. Sound too good to be true? It is. This belief is a myth, which only leaves Nice Guys feeling frustrated, lonely, and powerless.
There is nothing wrong with being nice. But the Nice Guy does it to seek approval and avoid rejection. He's a people-pleaser. He constantly sets his own needs and wants aside, and pretends to be something he's not, in order to make other people happy. Suppressing his authenticity does not work for long. The Nice Guy eventually blows up in rage, passive-aggressive behavior, or compulsive sexual acting out. Nice Guys do not feel that it's safe to be exactly who they are, and therefore are secretive, manipulative, and very unhappy.
We are a group of men who want to start taking control of ourselves and our lives. We have seen that we cannot do it alone. We pledge to help, support, and encourage one another in our journey to become Integrated Males. We strive to:
Stop seeking the approval of others.
Learn effective ways to get our needs met.
Feel more powerful and confident.
Create the kind of intimate relationships we really want.
Learn to express our feelings and emotions.
Have a fulfilling and exciting sex life.
Embrace our masculinity and have meaningful relationships with other men.
Live up to our potential and become truly creative and productive.
Accept ourselves just as we are.
Live with total integrity.
If these are things you want in your life, please join us! Any adult (18+) male is welcome, regardless of relationship status, position in life, religious beliefs, or sexual orientation. We strive to make our meetings safe for all. Our meetings are about 90 minutes long, and we do plenty of other manly activities to give you a chance to bond with our group of safe men.
We take the principal themes for our meetings from the book "No More Mr. Nice Guy", by Dr. Robert Glover (http://www.nomoremrniceguy.com), but we also use other inspirational books and materials to enhance our discussions. Come join us and start getting what you want in love, sex, and life!
This is a creative, supportive group for women honoring the divine feminine that exists within us all.
We create sacred space and allow each other to be in our divine selves. This is meant to be a safe, sacred, playful group that acknowledges and validates each individual's spiritual journey. We invite women who are interested in deepening their understanding of and relationship with the Goddess within and exploring how we can reflect that out into the world. Depending on circumstances we will have events where men we are connected with may join in.
This Meetup Group is dedicated to the Utah 9.12 Project & affiliated efforts. Since the 9.12 Project is, itself, a group open to all other Principled Patriots, and all who believe in the 9 Principles & 12 values of the 9.12 Project are welcome, it doesn't matter whether you prefer Sarah Palin, Mitt Romney, or Ron Paul (or anybody else) for President in 2012; it doesn't matter whether you're a member of any other conservative/patriot group, you're welcome as long as you believe what we believe! Here are the details:
The Nine Principles
1. America is good.
2. I believe in God and He is the Center of my Life.
3. I must always try to be a more honest person than I was yesterday.
4. The family is sacred. My spouse and I are the ultimate authority, not the government.
5. If you break the law you pay the penalty. Justice is blind and no one is above it.
6. I have a right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, but there is no guarantee of equal results.
7. I work hard for what I have and I will share it with who I want to. Government cannot force me to be charitable.
8. It is not un-American for me to disagree with authority or to share my personal opinion.
9. The government works for me. I do not answer to them, they answer to me.
The 12 Values: 1-Honesty
2-Reverence 3-Hope
4-Thrift 5-Humility
6-Charity 7-Sincerity
8-Moderation 9-Hard Work
10-Courage 11-Personal Responsibility
12-Gratitude
If you agree with these, you're one of us! In fact, even if you only agree with 7 of the 9 principles, you're still one of us! Join with us today to take back our great nation!
Help us to reign in our out-of-control government and restore the America we all know we can, were intended to, and should be!
If you agree that the Principles of Liberty enshrined within our founding documents should be enforced as the ultimate law of the land, and that we should return, as a nation, to those basic, common sense principles, then join us today; there's no time to lose!
We also have a private social network which you can access by going to http://www.utah912.com, and a group on the largest & fastest-growing 9.12 Project Social Network in the world, at:
http://www.the912project.us/group/wesurroundthemutah
Please join us there, as well as here on our Meetup Group!
Our next event will be at the Utah State Capitol at 10:00 AM on 9/12! Join us!

Boys are cool and all, but who says we need them for adventure? This is for chicks who want to get outside and hike, snowshoe, ski, climb mountains... just enjoy the great outdoors while making a few new friends! We'll go adventure, maybe grab some grub afterward, and just have a good time. Well-behaved and fixed dogs are welcome when we are adventuring in dog-friendly areas. Well-behaved boys (need not be fixed) might be allowed sometimes (as in you can bring your husband, boyfriend, gay friend, brother, whatever), but we'll mostly keep it girls only. Looking forward to adventuring with you!
*Having just started the group and already having so many members, I'm feeling overwhelmed! I'd like to keep the group smaller and more manageable so I'm now limiting new members. Please feel free to try to join, just don't take it personally if you don't get in right now. I'd like to be able to put names to faces and keep it more personal... and at the rate people are joining, that might not be possible!
The Utah QA User Group is a user group and network of like-minded professionals interested in career development and dedicated to the advancement of software quality. We have members in many business sectors from all over Utah. We hold meetings in the Salt Lake City area once a quarter revolving around a specific theme. Recent meetings have included topic discussions and presentations on Automated Tools, Processes, and Development Models; Testing in an Agile Environment; Performance Testing Tools and Techniques, Leadership and Managment on Technical Teams, and Requirements Documentation.
Our meetings are free to attend and we invite not only folks involved in the testing and quality assurance of software but also software developers, managers, team leaders, project management and anyone else that has a interest in software quality tools, techniques, and processes.
Our meetings generally start at 5:30pm and last until about 7:30-8pm. Food (such as pizza/subs) and drinks are provided through our sponsor TEKSystems. This is a great place to network with other professionals and learn more about the tricks and tools of your trade.
We are all here to play tennis and have a great time. We welcome everyone who wants to play. Skill levels are all over the place. If you are a true beginner than we would suggest you to take lessons. Some of the players here are very helpful for beginners but for the most part its recommended that you have a skill level of at least 2.0. On average the skill level in the group seems to be about 3.0-3.5. That doesnt mean you won't find 4.0+ on here for a higher level of game.
If your looking for lessons email the organizers in the group and we will help you find instructors. We have great contacts for instructors and they will give you a great deal on some group/private lessons for being part of the Tennis Club Meetup.
Benvenuto to the Italian-American Meetup Group. While we are principally located in Salt Lake City, Utah, anyone, anywhere is more than welcome to be part of our group.
The main mission of the group is to foster an environment where those of Italian descent or just interested in all things Italian, can meetup and learn more about their ancestry, Italian culture, food, language, travel, etc.
Secondary to this is the goal of creating a new lodge of The Order Sons of Italy in America here in Utah. OSIA is the largest and oldest Italian-American organization in the country. OSIA is an amazing organization that does many things, from charity to Italian language courses, cooking classes to going on trips to Italy. Our hope is that we can create a very tight-knit group in Utah of those who are proud of their Italian heritage and/or just want to be involved with all things Italian - creating our own little Italy here in Utah.
This group brings together people who tend to focus their lives around human and higher consciousness. This group is open to anyone, and is a forum for discussing topics of higher awareness.
There are many opportunities to share experiences and share the light within consciousness. We do meditations together that are associated quantum with www.childrenofthesun.org and connect as one group avatar with the realms of higher light to assist the literal integration of light from the previous electromagnetic earth grid to the new crystalline earth grid. We assist as literally being light servers placed on earth for this purpose.
This is a very open and social group of like minded people who are interested in sharing ideas and contributing to the peace, light and love of each other, humanity and the earth Itself.
Want to see the power of this group?
Go to the "Files" tab and see our PDF file showing the results we've created using the principles taught at our worskhops.

Hi,
We are a group that specializes in all forms of fine art photography (and yes, this does include nudity), but is not going to be exclusive. We welcome artists of every style, whether you work with nature, models, or both, although almost all of our shoots will involve models. Please respect each other and be accepting in your communications with each other. Also please understand we are a fine art group, not a p0rn group. If you have any questions, please let us know.
If you wish to join us please complete the questionnaire.
The $5 monthly dues fee is for this group and the upkeep of the MeetUp fees, studio rentals, props, traveling models, additional models, etc.(Models do not accrue this fee as they are the ones we hire to help the group grow)
A per shoot fee of $20 goes to the model we have hired to shoot. (not required to pay this if you don't shoot.)
We are active and hold meetups every month like clockwork. And if you are interested in growing as a photographer/artist working with other like minded photographers/artists and working with beautiful models. This is the group for you.
Thanks.

Ever since our family of six went through our first of three lay offs several years ago, I've had a passion to learn how to live a very abundant life without spending much money. I have been teaching classes for the past 8 years on this subject and am eager to share what I have learned with millions of people who are all struggling in our stressed economy.
My signature class "Feed a Family of Four on $160/month" has been a big hit over the years. During the past year, I developed a more specific system, entitled the "6-3-4 Meal Plan" which means 6 minute prep time per meal, costing less than $3/meal, enough to feed a family of 4.
I will start posting my seminars and workshops on this meetup so you can come and see for yourself what I do.
Besides teaching students how to eat more whole grains and legumes, I love organizing and promoting my community garden! We have over 3 acres of rich, fertile soil to grow our food and a large 1200 sq. foot greenhouse. Last year we fed over 170 families from our gardens.
Our garden members are required to come and work in the gardens if they want this delicious food. They also pay an annual fee of $50/household. It's impressive how much food our members receive every year!
I hope you'll join us and see for yourself how you can live and actually thrive, rather than just hanging on, surviving with white knuckles in a difficult economy.
Check out my website liveandthrive.com for more details and how to join. You'll see other groups I offer with the same "Provident, Active, Healthy Living" theme.
I love teaching people how to grow their own food so they experience for themselves what it's like to shop less at the grocery store, while picking and eating plenty of delicious, home grown food!
Bottom line: If you love local, fresh, delicious, produce ALL year long, and want to teach your family how to grow and work in the gardens, this group is for you!
If you want a "hands on" garden experience, you've come to the right place!
Whether you want to just buy produce from us or work in the gardens, we can accommodate you!

There are many burned-out by the Mormon Church, and have discovered many of its problems. This group exists to help individuals who are transitioning out of Mormonism. The group also exists for those who are not Mormon, but are interested in learning more about the faith. Given that the hosts are traditional Christians, we invite all those who are at least open to the truth claims of traditional Christianity to attend. Though tolerant of other ideas, we unapologetically hold Christ to be the Ultimate and that our lives are at unrest until they find their rest in Him, and not in anything else... including church organizations. We recognize various church organizations are helpful to that end, but deny the LDS Church to be among those. It is a counterfeit of Christianity. Our worthiness is in Christ alone.
The Salt Lake City Ex-Mormon Meetup is a ministry outreach of Courageous Christians United.
Deeksha Oneness blessing does not belong to any particular religion or spiritual belief.
Deeksha is a blessing from the Divine that works to activate the kundalini, balance the chakras and guide the recipient on a unique journey into higher states of consciousness and ultimately to the state of Oneness.
The Oneness Blessing (Deeksha) frees the senses from the constant chatter of the mind resulting in clarity of perception and spontaneous feelings of love, joy, peace, and inner silence.
It dissolves negative life patterns, releases traumas stored at the cellular and energetic levels, and facilitates deep emotional and physical healing. Eventually one realizes a permanent end to personal suffering and Full Awakening to the nature of the true Self.
In the silence of watching our thoughts without judgment, and experiencing the full content of each moment without conflict or resistance, we end personal suffering and open fully to the oneness of our true nature.
Additional benefits of receiving Deeksha include reduced stress, more control over emotions, healed relationships, and more peace and joy in your life.
As a result, we learn to truly experience reality through the senses.
In relationships it enables a greater sensitivity and connectedness with the other, freeing you from the limitations of your judgments and conditionings.
Each person's process is different but once the sense of a separate "self" dissolves, people experience less inner conflict. Love harmony, peace and balance begin to permeate their lives.
Experience the peaceful bliss of an event.
Elite Single Baby-Boomers 50 and Over
Seeking Babyboomers who are interested in: Meeting singles, attending art/cultural or sporting events, travel, outdoor recreational activities, networking and . . . . much much more.
Babyboomers are one of the largest groups in the country but good luck trying to find a classy place to dance, or just a nice cozy piano bar.
Many of us would like to travel to New York, Europe or just a weekend trip to Vegas or Wendover and are seeking fun, interesting and compatible travelling companions. What about that last minute three day cruise! A weekend in Delmar, CA to the horse races? Others may want to meet individuals to attend sporting, cultural events or outdoor recreational activities.
After working responsibly for years some babyboomers are now seeking full or part time jobs in this dismal economy and want a social and networking group to connect with.
Single professional men and women 50 and over or 50 and over single couples to meet monthly with members who are comfortable volunteering their home for a gathering. Guests would bring their own bottle, main dish or hor d'oeuvre to every home event. However, this is not just a monthly event. Meetups during the month could include everything from dancing, wine tasting, golf, hiking, concerts, etc. Come on, quit complaining that there's nothing going on in our age group. Don't let the world pass you by. We can create our own experience by putting our heads together for some unique fun gatherings and check off some of those items on our bucket list. Let's put on some of the ol music, do some dancing and meet some great professional people! Who knows . . . . You may find that special someone!
Out of consideration for your host/hostess you will need to RSVP on events you plan on attending and change your RSVP if your plans change. If the feedback to an event is overwhelming there may be a need to limit the number of individuals attending and it will be necessary to have an accurate count.

We are a group of Paranormal Investigators in Tooele Utah. We investigate through scientific means but also are interested in the metaphysical side of the Paranormal. We are lucky enough to have our own haunted location, maybe you have heard of it, Asylum 49 which was previously known as Old Tooele hospital. In October it's an amazing haunted house and from Januaury to June, after its turned back into a hospital with all of the props put away, we offer tours and ghost hunts to the public. We also have the option to have the building rented to you for private investigations. We open Asylum 49 to people who are curious, very interested, skeptics, beginners and professional groups. Asylum is a fantastic training ground for anyone interested in the paranormal.
What we want to provide with this group is the opportunity to have people who are interested in the paranormal to join us in discussions on technical equipment, training, technique and the metaphysical side of the paranormal world along with evidence, and of corse gather proof. We have a goal to have meetings once a month on subjects just mentioned. Most will be free to you, however if we need to pay a speaker than there will be a small charge but you will always know at the time the meet up is posted.
At Asylum we have great equipment and are always growing our technical gadget collection. A.PI. has worked with several professional groups from across the country. We have worked with countless enthusiasts of the paranormal and have learned a great deal from all of these people. Not to mention our own experiences. Having our own haunted location has been a great tool to advance our knowledge and we want to share this with you.
Do you regret not paying attention during your literature classes in high school? Would you like to read the "classics" and discuss them with others? If so, you've found the right club.
We will be reading a wide range of modern, ancient, medieval and contemporary classic books from around the globe! Anything over 600 pages.... we'll probably split into two meetings.
**Ideally** you should have the novels read before you attend a meetup, but you don't have to or even have started them! But Come ready to talk about them, give your ideas, ask questions, philosophies and opinions and have plain old literary fun!.
If you'd like to understand the novels better, we suggest doing some cultural/historical research with each novel to really understand the writings of the different authors.
The Salt Lake ColdFusion Users Group is an official Adobe group with the primary goal of turbocharging our dev skills.
In our monthly get-togethers we iterate a wide spectrum of topics from pure ColdFusion development to how easily it can integrate and simplify rich functionality in other powerful technologies like AJAX and The Flash Platform.
If you're a front-ender that's been toying with the idea of learning some back-end skills, ColdFusion can do more with less than any of its competitors. In a week or two you can be developing dynamic, powerful web apps and rock solid back-ends that make your front-ends sing like Beyonce at an awards show.
We meet on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 4:30 PM at the address below. No matter what your experience level you're welcome to join us. Just show up, follow the signs, and help yourself to some food, drink, and mad new skills.

Namaste and welcome!
All are invited to come and experience this soul satisfying process of mantra meditation and yoga.
This meditation practice is one that uses sound, specifically spiritual sound, as the focus for the meditation. There are 2 different categories of sound, material and spiritual. To our ears these sounds might seem the same, but the effect they have on us is dramatically different.
Having these spiritual sounds as the focus for the practice makes it very simple and fun to do. Some techniques introduced in the classes are normally done individually, where others are done in a group setting with music, making for a great time with family and friends where everyone can taste the sweetness of these spiritual mantras.
This practice is based on the teachings of the Vedic scriptures, and descends through a line of spiritual teachers in an unchanged, uncontaminated way. The word "veda" means knowledge or truth. These teachings directly and clearly address questions like; Who are we? Why are we here? What is the purpose of life? Where will we go after this body is finished? Etc. By uncovering these truths and others, we become fixed in knowledge and freed from the fearfulness of birth, old age, disease and even death.
I began this group as a way of sharing this amazing gift of meditation and yoga with others around the community, and to create a situation where all introspective, truth seeking souls can come together and develop meaningful friendships on the spiritual level.
Although this is a meetup "group" there is actually nothing to join and nothing to quit. It is part of the philosophy to make this practice and knowledge available to everyone free of charge and obligation.
For additional information on meditation and yoga, visit mmyslc.blogspot.com, or click on the "follow us" link.
All the best and I hope to meet with you soon,
Rob

We would just like to acquaint you with us, the members and Brethren of Progress Lodge #22, and make ourselves available to you to answer any questions. You will find that we are not as strange and mysterious as many would have you believe!
The mission of Freemasonry in Utah is to teach and perpetuate a way of life that promotes Brotherhood, Self Improvement through education, Family Values, Moral Standards, Charity, and Community Involvement.
Freemasonry is about Seeking Light, that is, Wisdom and Knowledge, and applying it in our lives. We value the fraternal friendships we develop, and work together to make good men better. If you would like to expand and diversify your circle of true friends, Freemasonry may be just what youve been looking for.
2B1ASK1 We do not recruit, so you must ask to become a Freemason. Your search for Light begins with the petition which can be found in our Files Section. If you have any questions, just ask a Mason! He will be happy to help you out. If you dont know any Masons, feel free to contact any of the Organizers/Officers listed to the left or just send us an Email!

"Money follows boldness!"
~Colleen Laukka
We formed the Money Creator's Meetup as a platform to bring in truly transformational presentors that deliver powerful Mind Shifts and distinctions that have the power to transform who you are "Being" with money, your career or business. We go beyond tips, tricks and "how to's" that adjust what you are "doing." It's like Steve Chandler says "working only at the level of "doing" is like rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic."
If you are ready to turn up the courage and take bold action to create a life you love... Join us!

Most Network Marketing Professionals are familiar with Napoleon Hill's classic work "Think and Grow Rich". In Chapter 10, "Power of the Master Mind", Mr. Hill describes a Master Mind as "The Driving Force" towards riches and specifically defines it as:
"Coordination of knowledge and effort, in a spirit of harmony, between two or more people, for the attainment of a definite purpose."
This group has been created for the Definite Purpose of:
"Helping Network Marketing Professionals to achieve their goals through the sharing of knowledge, systems, strategies and personal success stories."
This group is non-denominational and welcomes distributors from any legitimate established Network Marketing Company to participate in its meetings.
Members are expected to interact in a professional manner by refraining from promoting their opportunity or engaging in any sales activities within this Meetup group.
Meetings will be focused on the topics of most interest to the members. Each member will have the opportunity to briefly introduce themselves and to contribute to the content covered in the meetings.
We will frequently host Special Guest Speakers that have well-established networking businesses and earn at least 5-figures per month.
Come and enjoy this unique networking opportunity!

The noble eight fold path describes the way to the end of suffering, as it was laid out by Buddha. It is a practical guideline to ethical and mental development with the goal of freeing the individual from attachments and delusions; and it finally leads to understanding the truth about all things. Together with the Four Noble Truths it constitutes the gist of Buddhism.

"The religion of the future will be a cosmic religion. It should transcend a personal God and avoid dogmas and theology. Covering both natural and spiritual, it should be based on a religious sense arising from the experience of all things, natural and spiritual and a meaningful unity. Buddhism answers this description. If there is any religion that would cope with modern scientific needs, it would be Buddhism." ~Albert Einstein

This Meetup is for citizens across the State of Utah who would like to be active in preserving our individual freedoms and the prosperity of our families.
We follow the concerted action agenda of the JBS.org Freedom Campaign ( www.jbs.org/freedom )as we seek to secure representative government from both our state legislature in Salt Lake City and our state congressional delegation in Washington, DC. Please, visit the website to read the 12 areas we are focused on.
Our state and federal constitutions are the social contracts we demand adherence to by government officials placed in authority by We the People. We are anti-globalization. We are against Internationalism's drive to integrate nations.
This is our SLC based group. We are dedicated to the enhancement of health, love, wholeness and prosperity.
As empowered women, we do not wait for life or other people to change, but take accountability for all that we experience. We we are the ones we've been waiting for!
We choose to wake up, gain knowledge & tools, make empowering decisions, and stand as masterful creators of our own lives. We each have a divine purpose--we each have a unique voice.
We use our gifts to enhance ourselves, our families, and the world around us. Many say, "someday" ... we say Right Now.
Even working moms needs playgroups for their kids. Come join us Thursday nights and bring the kids. We'll explore the valley, get to know new people and just get away!
We'll meet at parks, go to museums, hikes or just hang out. Working moms deserve some fun kid time too!
We started this group for anyone that is just getting started in real estate and wants to start right. If you have never closed a deal or have closed less than 5 deals - this is the right place for you. If you have a full time job and only have a few minutes each week to work on real estate you can do this. Some of the most successful real estate investors are those who have a regular job and do real estate on the side.
The purpose of this group is to educate and network you with people who have done deals and get you working with the right people to be successful. We will be talking about getting started in real estate, the best ways to find deals here in Utah, how to know it's a deal and how to make almost any house turn into a deal. How to find money and partners to get the deal done. How to find buyers for wholesale deals. We will network you with the right lenders (Regular, Private & Hard) , title companies, etc.
We are a group of investors that have closed hundreds of deals in Utah and 90% in the Salt Lake area. Our goal is to network with anyone getting started in real estate and those who have done deals, to help them find more deals and figure out how to turn almost every house into a deal. We find working together we can get more deals done.
Hey all! This group is for us young, active, social people that are looking for a good time and to have fun while making new friends. I would like to keep this group open to suggestions so please feel free to let the group know what you are interested in! Just to spark a few ideas...
Let's keep active! How about tons of hiking/camping? How about hitting up the gym and shooting some hoops or playing tennis or any other sport volleyball, kickball, frisbee, anything? Is anyone interested in learning something new? (Also is there anyone interested in teaching the group something new?). Let's keep it social! Whether it's going out for coffee, dinner and movies, poker nights, game nights, BBQ's, dancing on the weekends, bowling. Some other ideas... concerts, art events, cultural events! We could look into service projects and volunteer work!
Seriously These are just a few suggestions on a long list of things there are to do. So let's make the most of living and loving life in Salt Lake City! :)
Swing Dancing, Ballroom and Latin Dancing exist in Salt Lake City - you just have to know where to look ! Opportunities exist to take dance lessons and actually dance afterwards with other like minded individuals without bringing a date. Venues often change, but we'll point you to dance venues with Dance lessons and dances - all for adults. Couples and singles are both welcome participants. Most of the venues we suggest are non-drinking venues. It has been our experience that nightclubs exist mainly to sell drinks - not to provide an adequate dance floor and great dance music. I'm not talking about standing and wiggling - I'm talking partner dancing as in "Dancing with the Stars" on TV. Dancing has multiple benefits - it's athletic, it's social and it's psychological. Your brain is fired up to figure out what the heck you're supposed to do and when to do it. Laughter is a constant friend in the dance rooms. Being patient with yourself and the ones you dance with is encouraged.
If you'd like to test your role playing mettle in the most imaginative and expansive RPG experience this side of the Megaverse then this group is for you.
Q: What is Rifts?
A: Rifts is a pen and paper RPG that crosses and combines every genre science fiction, fantasy, horror, the supernatural, super-heroes, dimensional travel, magic, monsters, and more in a wild, post-apocalyptic setting limited only by the imagination of the players.
Our Goal: To help current and old Rifts players find people to game with again; bring new players into the gaming genre who would enjoy the people and role playing.
Flesh out a character and enjoy the ride with a group of mature (must be over 21), casual gamers about every other Saturday evening.
This Meetup.com site is used primarily as a general update for current players and a portal for new players to find us. Please brows the "About" section and check our gaming schedule here. E-mail us if you'd like to learn more about the Rifts RPG or our gaming group(s) or are a Rift veteran looking for a group to game with again. Feel free to participate on the "Message Board" as well - links on your left.
E-mail Rifter6@rifters.org.
"Having played a wide number of RPG games, including D&D, Warhammer, Cyberpunk, and Shadowrun to name a few, no RPG brings to the game the same depth in both character development and plot like Rifts does. Never have I played a game that sends the imagination soaring the way Palladium's Rifts does!"
Ever feel like something is hard to use or a service should exist for something you'd like to use? Let's develop a solution. Let's collaborate on creating useful software. This group is intended for anyone interested in networking with others on software project and startup ideas as well as finding cofounders for creating a product. We'll also discuss the current state of the startup world and technologies used as well as its direction. Anything from iOS apps to web development to system software for discussion or implementation.
When: The last Wednesday of the month.
What: An independent film at Broadway or Tower, followed by dinner at a pizza joint.
How: Films are determined via blog poll: www.indiesaltlakecity.blogspot.com

Many people want to invest in real estate. There are countless courses one can take to obtain some tools and valuable information, but how many people actually decide to move forward and do it? About 2 percent.
The NetWorth Real Estate Group was started to offer free education, consulting, and support to those who want to learn the "ins and outs" of real estate investing. We bring in professionals who are experts in their industry to speak to our Group every month. We meet the second Thursday of every month and a complimentary dinner is provided 30 minutes prior to the start of the meeting. This allows our members to come straight from work and not worry about starving through the meeting. Some of the topics we have covered in the past year include:
Asset protection (Attorney)
Taxes and depreciation of real estate investments (Accountant)
Property Management (One of our best Property Managers)
How to Achieve and Keep an 800 Credit Score
Appraising: What does it all Mean (Appraiser)
Investing in Real Estate through your IRA or 401K
We do not charge for attendance at any of its meetings, classes, or events. Our focus is on providing investors with sound real estate investments that build wealth and contribute to a solid financial future. We are able to walk you through your first investment with free consulting because we are real estate brokers. The seller pays us commission. It's a win-win for everyone! We will teach you how to do it on your own, and you can choose to use us as your broker.
Who should join us?
Anyone who is interested in learning real estate investing strategies. Many of our members already have investments and they just come to gain knowledge to help them better manage their asset. We have helped over 1,300 people invest in real estate--whether it's your first investment or you're a seasoned investor.

~This Description is subject to change as the group evolves, expect more to come in the future.
Thank You,
Michael, Cindy, and Nancy
From Cindy Mueller our Organizer:
There are not really any dues but we all try to pitch in a couple of bucks each to help cover the costs of the meet-up. Anyone can come and visit, even if you are just trying to learn about your physic gifts. (We all have them; some can just access them better than others.) We don't pre-screen or let any one person run everything. We just share.
Right now we meet in this great private conference room filled with light (literally). We all bring our own something to drink because it's a conference room and no drink services are available except a soda machine downstairs. We hope you might want to bring cookies or something simple to share once in a while. Now that you know us all you have to do is sign up to share. You can always visit first if you like.
Thanks,
Cindy

Our objective is to ensure you leave each meet-up rejuvenated, edified, enlightened and fulfilled. Occasionally, experts will be brought in from different fields, offering insights, advice and support on everything from legal advice to dating again. In the end, however, all meetings are underlined by principles taught in the Mormon church: love, forgiveness and hope, through our Savior Jesus Christ.
As a divorcee myself, I've found my support group to be the largest factor in my healing. I've discovered a certain fulfillment that can only be attained through the good ladies in my life. Because of them, my family, and the gospel I have been able to not only survive... but THRIVE. And you can too. Join us today!

Salt Lake City is the birthplace of the Agile movement (see www.agilemanifesto.org), and many interesting things related to Agile are going on all the time right here in our own backyard.
We have two goals with this group. First and foremost is to serve as a starting point for those interested in Agile and wanting to learn more.
Second is to provide a place for the more seasoned Agile practitioners to share their knowledge with others, and trade ideas with their peers.
We will plan on meeting on a monthly basis for a casual, fun discussion of Agile and our experiences with it. Depending on the needs of the group we may even engage in hands-on exercises or bring in guests with specific experience in certain areas.
Welcome to the Salt Lake County grassroots campaign headquarters for Ron Paul's 2012 presidential bid. Join this group if you would like to plan, organize and/or participate in activities that will help Ron Paul become the 45th President of The United States.

Same with healing modalities....everything goes better with Crystals.
The organizer is a certified Master of Crystology and has been integral to organizing upcoming events and classes about Crystals in the Salt Lake valley. You are welcome and you are LOVED. If you have found this meet-up, there is a reason and we have a place reserved just for you!
Namaste
In my travels through the many lands and faces of meetup I have come to a final determination, I want to do it all! And so I will! I have decided to host a group that would give my diverse lot of friends the opportunity to eat, drink, play guitar, dance, watch odd films, and graciously loose to me at scrabble. Not all in the same evening, of course. I welcome my old friends, and invite the new. Only nice people need apply.

Meeting other like-minded people also offers an opportunity to inject your own travel visions, plan your own trips and ask local travelers to join you. Post your "approved" - on-your-own - 2-4 person trip ideas on our TRAVELBUGS message board with your contact information.
Some members are expats who can share their "living abroad" stories. Other members have crazy travel tales and fantastic photographs to entertain at potluck home get-togethers. A few members are newbie travelers who come to learn the tricks of the travel trade. This is an independent, non-commercial travel club – no cruise operator presentations! Bottom line - we have a lot of fun at home and abroad (some fees may apply).
For our many annual trips, we join with other travelers from the US and Canada to keep trips affordable and fun. Trips are limited in size to about 18 travelers, they sell out fast, so join early to avoid disappointment!

Barter and Trade Class description
This group helps members acquire things they need/want by using their talents, skills, resources, abilities, knowledge and experience without using much money. Members are encouraged to develop a "Wish List" of goods and/or services. A second list will include what they have to offer in exchange. In hard economic times, learning how to barter and trade with a large network of people is invaluable. Regular meetings are held at a variety of locations throughout the Salt Lake Valley to help members develop their 2 lists AND to share their lists with others in the group. Check out my website liveandthrive.com for more groups that I offer with this same "Provident, Active, Healthy Living" theme.
I am so excited to have started this group. We will meet twice a month or more to exercise, learn from trainers and health experts and learn some yummy low calorie recipes. I would love it if you could bring a friend or two that are in your circle of influence. It is great to have a buddy that you exercise with so bring him or her, if you don't have anyone you could buddy up with someone from the group that lives close to you. This group is to encourage you and help you. We appreciate donations but they are not required, this is to cover the cost of food and the venue.
Come and have fun and share your experiences with others. We all have something unique to contribute. Let's get America moving together!
I'll be teaching some donation-only ashtanga yoga classes, holding some Vedic chant sessions and also some chant/yoga sutra socials. If you are interested in authenic yoga - this will be a great way to share your practice with like-minded yoga practitioners!
I'll be holding ashtanga yoga practices at Centered City Yoga on in Salt Lake on Tuesday mornings from 8-9:30am when I'm in town. Donation-only classes, pay what you can afford.
Ashtanga yoga is a practice based on breath, energy locks and eye gazing. If you are new to ashtanga, you'll love the new experience of playing with your internal energy, feeling it, moving it, experiencing it. We'll begin each practice with the traditional chant, and we'll be working on the Primary Series sequence. I will also be using a lot of Sanskrit in class, so you'll really get to experience a traditional practice.
If you are brand new to yoga in general, please contact me about doing a basics class so you know the basic postures. I'll help you choose some classes at Centered City Yoga or whichever studio that you choose, so that can help you begin your journey, with this group in mind!
Soon I will have some Vedic chanting and Sanskrit and Yoga Sutras activities posted as well - just looking for a location still.
I am also able to give Deeksha (Oneness Blessing). If you would ever like a deeksha at any of the events, please let me know...I would love to share the energy! It would be given right before a shavasana so that you can integrate the energy.
Bhadram te,
Maria

Looking to meet female friends with similar interests in the outdoors (running, hiking, camping, fly fishing, etc) but who also want to get together for dinner, concerts, shopping, wine drinking.... Most of my friends are guys, which is cool a lot of the time, but I'm ready to expand my circle of friends with some cool women.
Welcome to our circle of shamans, shamanic practitioners, and healers in the Salt Lake Valley, who seek to bring healing to bodies, hearts, and souls of people, as well as peace and balance to our homes, communities, planet, and universe.
Shamanism is the oldest spiritual and healing tradition in the world, some say over 10,000 years old.
The members of Spirit Horse Shamanic Circle come together to learn, discuss, and share shamanic techniques and traditions that have crossed cultures, continents and history through healing circles, ceremony, drumming, singing, breath work, storytelling, meditation, shamanic journeying, and other experiential forms.
All traditions and levels of experience are welcome.
We are a group dedicated to self expression. Bring your talents, be they spoken word, music, slam poetry, or comedy. We welcome all ages and all levels of talent!

We're open to ideas and help organizing things. Please let us know what you want to do or ideas for great activities.
This is a group for fun women needing fun women friends. Having lived in Park City for nine years, I'm ashamed at how few people I know. Whether you are a single professional (me), a working or stay-at-home mom, or just want to get out of the house for some great conversation, this group is for you. We will try to pick a place once a month with enough time for planning. Looking forward to meeting great women in this amazing city we live in.
The Startup University Seminar Series is dedicated to bringing entrepreneurs together. We provide value-added workshops and seminars focused on providing tools and skills to entrepreneurs, would-be-entrepreneurs and business owners of startup and early-stage companies. From legal, accounting and finance, to fundraising, taxes, and business planning, entrepreneurs get the real-world and expert advice to help them "start, build, and grow businesses."
There are many resources available to aspiring entrepreneurs and small business owners but many go unrecognized or underutilized while others increase costs without measureable benefit to the business.
Our group addresses issues facing small businesses in Utah in the context of Venture Strategic Planning. Focus is on action, based upon sound strategic planning. Our programs are built to provide education (knowledge and understanding) plus methods and tools to implement and execute programs and processes for REAL business development and improvement.
We will not hold meetings for the sake of filling a calendar and may seek venues around the area that will best suit the specific meeting. Some meetings may address needs of a specific segment of our members. Some meetings, for example, might focus on specific revenue generation actions for existing businesses while others might target processes for new ventures or emerging businesses.
Many programs wil be fee-based in order to cover basic costs but we will endeavor to keep them reasonable! Sponsorship will be sought where it is appropriate to do so but while we will have "partnership" programs we will not broker sponsorships for the sake of contributions. All "partners" will be qualified for participation and held to the highest standards.
Inputs and suggested topics or presenters are always welcome from our members!
Our group is for all those facinated with the study of astrology. Beginners and experienced astrologers are welcome. Under the direction of Christopher Renstrom (CATALYST magazine's Ask the Astrologer) we will gather together for an engaging evening of astrological dialogue, debate and surprises.

I find so many great knowledgeable individuals who live natural, chemical-free, compassionate livestyles, that I thought it would be great to create a group for like-minds to socialize, share ideas, share foods, and network any great products and services with each other. It's always great to get more ideas on how to live organically, lessen our footprint, and bring more health and happiness. If you're interested in natural living, this group is for you! Come to meet friends, network your business, or just contribute to a better world. This is an excellent group for naturopaths, yoga teachers, organic gardeners, artists, ayurvedic practictioners, and those who make (and sell) natural food and health/beauty products. It is also a great resource for anybody with health issues or unhappiness with life looking to for alternative ways to work with these issues. And it is especially great for those of us just trying to live naturally - as hopefully this will connect you with people to support your lifestyle, both with information and products or services. Topics include (but are not limited to): - organic foods and gardening - compassionate cooking and special diets - homemade or all-natural health and beauty products - restoring health through diet and lifestyle, not medication - chemical-free living for food, beauty, home and garden - yoga and ayurveda - lifestyle, exercise, energy
